Nimbus was approached to look at providing new living spaces at the back of a client's two storey sandstone residence Sunnyside (McWilliam House), and former coach house, constructed in 1849-1870. Alterations and additions include the removal of an asbestos rear extension and construction of a modern extension in stone and metal, to include a larger living space, kitchen dining and outdoor integrated gathering spaces. The works also include the conservation of the sandstone residence and former coach house. In keeping with the durable material found in the residence, it was decided from the onset to utillise similar materials, polished block walls, concrete polished floor finished wrapped in Zinc-cladding to complement the robust nature of the earlier residence.
