The project involved refurbishment to the lower nine floors of a high rise building in Sydney. These floors originally functioned as serviced apartments and through the works, were converted into boutique office suites and associated facilities including a lobby, cafe, meeting rooms, breakout spaces and end of trip amenities. As the upper floors of the building are residential apartments, the project was undertaken under Class 2 provisions as described in the Design Practitioners Act. Nimbus were engaged as registered Design Practitioners to review the interior design and consultant documentation and provide supplementary documentation to ensure adherence to statutory requirements. This presented various challenges both through the nature of the project - changing the function of the spaces and updating the building to current compliance standards, and also navigating the new processes and requirements as dictated by the Act.
